13. How can I add a lien holder after a deal
has been processed?
1.
Why does the name and/or address of the lien holder change when
processing online?
If you are selecting the
lien holder from the dropdown list using the FIN - (financial institution
number), the change takes place because PennDOT has the old information
for the lien holder on file and hasn't received a call from the lien holder
to update their
file to reflect the new information. This information can only be changed
if the lien holder calls PennDOT to have their information updated.
The same applies
for leasing companies.

What does "multiple instances of the plate found at PennDOT" mean?
This means that you are entering a transfer plate that is
less than 6 digits (most likely a vanity or motorcycle plate)
and the triVIN system pulls back this plate number from PennDOT
and every other plate that starts with the numbers listed plus
the 6th digit from other plates listed on the PennDOT system. The way
to get around this is to enter in the first 8 numbers of the
title number and ONLY the first 8 numbers. If 9 numbers are typed
in, you will get this error - "plate not found at PennDOT".

3.
Why is the renew reg option not available during some transfer plate transactions?
Either the plate has already been renewed or the plate is a
disabled vet or retiree plate and the customer
receives a discounted reg fee of $10 or less and should not be
processed online.

4.
Why are there fees missing on the fees screen or why is there an increase
when there shouldn't
be?
The plate is a disabled vet or retiree plate and the customer
receives a discounted reg fee of $10 or less
which the triVIN system is not setup to process and should be processed
offline.

5.
Why did the triVIN system print the wrong county on the reg card?
PennDOT determines
what county is associated with the customer by the zip code. The county
message passes directly through our system from the PennDOT system.
If the customer feels that the county is incorrect, they will need to
contact
PennDOT to correct this. We do not tell the PennDOT system what county
is required; PennDOT tells us based on the street address that our
system supplies.

6.

error- Error returned from DMV: F-STOP TO FR ROC 2 " AT

need
to contact
PennDOT to correct the issue.
(back

7.
What is a T-STOP?
A T-stop
means that there has been a stop put on the title by PennDOT and PennDOT will
need to be contacted to correct the issue.

What does this error mean: ORA-01403 NO DATA FOUND ERROR?
This error means that Netscape was updated to a newer version and
comes up during transactions. The triVIN system can only be used
with Netscape Communicator 4.79. To correct this, the new version
will need to be deleted and then you will need to install 4.79 Communicator
which can be found at - http://wp.netscape.com/download/archive/client_archive47x.html (back

11.
Why do I have a sticker missing from the online inventory that hasn’t
been issued to a customer?
This happens when a deal is started and submitted most of the way
through the transaction but wasn’t completed. This puts the
transaction into load deal, saving the sticker with that transaction
until it is deleted from load
deal. The sticker will go back to the on-hand inventory once the
deal is deleted
from load deal.

12.
I issued the wrong plate to an online transaction that was used for
a manual transaction.
A
problem report and app summary (top part of reg doc) will need to be faxed to
correct the plate for the online transaction.
The plate that was processed
online incorrectly will stay with the manual deal
and the plate that should be
issued
to the online deal will be corrected with the problem report and
the customer will receive a new reg card from PennDOT within a week. Also, if
the plate that
should have been issued to the online deal
is still showing up in the online
inventory, it will need to be marked as issued
manually in Report Problem Inventory. (back

13.
How can I add a lien holder after a deal has been processed?
You will need to fax over a problem report, applicant summary, and a $5 check
made out to the Commonwealth of PA to add
the lien and PennDOT will make the
correction.
