Check Plate, Class, First
Three

This message means there's an error on the recall inquiry. Makes can't contain numbers (i.e., the 3rd is III, etc.), there can't be spaces in names (i.e., O Donnell is O,Donnell) and if there is a space in a business name, the space is reflected by a semi-colon (i.e., O Donnell Shipping is O;Donell Shipping). Also, the customer might be picking the wrong plate class code or the DMV might have a different registrant altogether.

Lien Release Incompatible This message means that the lien number is wrong. The number is on the title to the right of the lien holder's name.
No Match on Prior Owner This message can mean several things. The title number could be entered incorrectly (in NY, the title is always six numbers and a letter). Someone else might own the car. Finally, if the message is encountered after the recall screen (on a renew and rereg), this means that the customer no longer owns the vehicle the plate is being transferred from. Hit the F8 key to process as a "plates only" transaction, which indicates that the user wants to renew only the plate record (and transfer the plate to the new vehicle).
No VIN
Record
This message could indicate that the car is new and the database doesn't have the VIN yet (this usually happens at the beginning of the model year), or the DMV has the manufacturer's abbreviation wrong. Call Customer Support (800.374.4771) for assistance.
Lien Release Prohibited Due to a DMV processing error, a user can't add a lien using the unknown lien holder code (99999) and release a lien at the same time. Use the unknown lien holder code and enter 0 (zero) for the release. This will alert DMV that they must manually release the lien.
Too Early to Renew This message can occur when a dealer issues a temporary registration for rereg. The system prompts them to renew if the date they try to process the deal is within sixty (60) days of the expiration. However, as these are temps, they are required to enter an issuance date for the temp. When this date is more than sixty (60) days prior to the expiration date, the system sends back this error. The fix is to hit the F7 key ("No Renew") when the system informs the user that this registration is eligible for renewal if the issuance date is over sixty (60) days prior to the expiration date. After the rereg process, the partner can renew the registration.
